All rounder Syed Mudassar Bukhari guided Shifa Hospital to edge out the Promising Cricket Rawalpindi by two wickets in a friendly cricket match here at the G-9 Cricket Ground the other day, says a press release.

Mudassar and Ibrar Ikhlaq contributed 33 runs in 9th wicket partnership when their team’s main batsmen were bowled out in the crucial stage. Mudassar also bowled well and claimed three main wickets of the Promising Club.

The Promising won the toss and elected to bat first: The hit up 285 for seven wickets in the allotted 35 overs. Zohaib (130 not out), Bilal (48), Ishtiaq (39) and Bilal(Junior) 34 were the key batsmen. For Shifa, Mudassar (3-29), Shahzad Ahmad (2-24) and Capt. Shfiq Aslam (2-29) were the main wicket-takers.

In reply, Shifa International achieved the target in 32nd over for the loss of eight wickets. Openers Shahzad Kayani and Faisal Iqbal added 145 runs in the partnership. Shahzad Kayani (88), Faisal Iqbal (77), Shakeeb Ilyas (35), Qutab ud Din Qureshi (27), Ibrar Ikhaq (25 not out) and Syed Mudassar Bukhari (13 not out) were their leading run-getters. For Promising Taimour (3- 51) and Nadeem (2-47) were the other wicket-takers.
