Shifa International Hospital Holds An Awareness Seminar To Commemorate World Autism Day

 

SEMINAR TO COMMEMORATE WORLD AUTISM DAY
Honorable First Lady, Begum Samina Alvi, who was the Chief Guest, while addressing the seminar emphasized the need for greater understanding and integration of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in society. She also stressed the importance of early diagnosis and intervention to improve outcomes for those with autism.
Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque, Chief Executive Officer of Shifa International Hospital expressed the hospital’s commitment to improving the lives of individuals with autism. Mr. Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer of Shifa International Hospital, and Dr. Khawaja Junaid Mustafa Chief Medical Officer of Shifa International Hospital were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Nosheen Kazmi, Consultant Psychiatrist at Shifa International Hospital briefed the audience about the role of individuals in supporting autistic children and adults in society. Dr. Yasser Masood, Consultant Pediatrician, and Neonatologist explained: “When to suspect Autism in toddlers”. Muhammad Kashif Khan, AGM rehabilitation department, said that role of rehabilitation was vital in making a child with ASD functional and independent. Faiza Badar, Speech pathologist briefed about the habilitation and rehabilitation of autistic children.
