Human Resource

Human Resource Department played a vital role during the 20 years of Shifa’s healthcare excellence. A hospital that started its journey with 35 employees now is a family of more than 3500 employees and 50 plus departments under the flagship of Shifa International Hospitals, Ltd Islamabad. Human Resource has been significant in recruiting the most critical, dynamic & trained staff for all departments. Starting from the simplest of talent acquisition such as hiring a front-end staff to the most diverse and complicated ones such as hiring highly skilled & technical staff like Perfusionists, Respiratory Therapists, ER Specialists, etc, Human Resource has been prolific in meeting all human resource needs.
Talent development has been another area of high priority where the Human Resource team has worked in tandem with other Human Resource responsibilities. In order to develop a culture of continuous learning & development, various customized in-house workshops are conducted for technical & non-technical employees. The main focus of such training is always on inducing core organizational values in the work ethics of Shifa International Hospitals employees, so as to provide compassionate patient care. For technical staff, Human Resource sends its employees for various professional national & international skill development training. One stand-out example includes Liver Transplant Training for which a select group of Consultants, Doctors, Paramedics, Technicians, & Coordinators was sent to India. The trained staff upon its return performed its first-ever successful Liver Transplant at Shifa International Hospitals while living up to the promise of providing cost-effective healthcare services.
Human Resource Operations have been in the limelight after its revamp in terms of automation with the advent of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). Most HR processes have been transformed using HRIS which is proving helpful in creating a paperless environment. With this automation, Human Resource has also empowered HODs by introducing tools in this system that serve them with all necessary employment information on a user-friendly dashboard. This information system has been facilitating quick, intelligent, & strategic decision-making by the department heads.
