1st Shifa Ladies Golf Match as Part of Breast Cancer Awareness

Shifa International Hospital and Shifa Foundation collectively organized the 1st Shifa Ladies Golf Match at Margalla Greens Golf Club Islamabad as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

The Honorable First Lady, Mrs. Samina Arif Alvi was the chief guest of the event who is successfully leading the breast cancer awareness campaign in the country. More than 65 female golfers and children from different cities participated in the golf match. The golfers were dressed in pink to symbolize their support for the cause.

Mrs. Alvi lauded the efforts of Shifa Int. Hospital & Shifa Foundation and urged all the women to be cautious about any initial abnormality and complication by going through regular self-exams and screenings to treat the disease at an early stage.

Dr. Manzoor H. Qazi, Chief Executive Officer, Shifa International Hospital, and Chairman, Shifa Foundation stated that breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in Pakistani women. He reiterated support by Shifa Foundation and Shifa Int. Hospital to empower women communities by providing facilities for breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment.

Dr. Zeeshan Bin Ishtiaque, Medical Director, Shifa International Hospital mentioned that the hospital has established a specialized Breast Clinic with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to provide integrated and personalized care to the patients under one roof.

Mr. Taimoor Shah, Chief Operating Officer, Shifa Int. The hospital said that the aim to organize this event is to empower women in the fight against cancer. The management of Shifa Int. Hospital announced Free Mammography Screening for all the female players/ golfers and various initiatives to further spread and strengthen this chain of awareness to benefit women.
