It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the 25th Annual Conference of the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons to be held at Shifa International University Hospital, in the beautiful green city of Islamabad, located at the base of Margalla Hills National Park.

As President of the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all the participants and distinguished guest speakers from all over the world, notably from the United Kingdom, European Union and the United States.

This year under the capable leadership of Professor Mamoon Rashid, the conference will no doubt be of an excellent educational content benefiting both our local and international participants with over 75 scientific papers on all aspects of plastic reconstructive & hand Surgery.

An Aesthetic Workshop under the auspices of International Society of Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) is planned the day following the conference with an internationally acclaimed ISAPS faculty.

It would be without saying that an enjoyable social event has been arranged for the participants and their spouses. For those wanting to explore Islamabad, one of the most beautiful cities of Pakistan, Margalla Hills National Park, Shakarparian Park would be worth visiting as well as Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument and the Lok Virsa Museum. No visit to Islamabad is complete with a visit to Monal Restaurant with breath-taking views of the City.

However, a conference like this would not be possible without the support of exhibit companies. I thank them all. Please spend some time with all of them during the breaks.

Professor Mamoon is a gracious host and no doubt everyone will be well taken care of.

In-sha’Allah.

Lastly, I would like to express my greatest gratitude to all the distinguished speakers, the Local Organizing Committee and colleagues for their hard work and sacrifice in various aspects to make this congress possible.

PAPS 2020 Islamabad

It gives me great pleasure to invite you on behalf of the Pakistan Association of Plastic Surgeons to our 25th Annual meeting to be held in Islamabad from the 13th to the 15th of March 2020.

Our association is relatively young, having been formed in 1994, and comparatively much smaller than many older and well established associations. Our meetings therefore have a much cosier feel than the ones of larger associations. However, what they lack in numbers is compensated by the enthusiasm of the participants and the feeling of genuine camaraderie. The academic content is generally of a very high standard with a lot of innovative solutions to the reconstructive and cosmetic challenges peculiar to this part of the world.

In the past we have had the good fortune to have numerous illustrious speakers from around the world. This time too we hope to have some of the most well-known and respected plastic surgeons in the world participating in the meeting. Your presence at the meeting will not only give us an opportunity to interact in person with someone of your stature but also provide you a unique insight into the practice of plastic surgery in Pakistan.

Islamabad is a beautiful city surrounded by hills and the gateway to the majestic peaks of the Himalayas and Karakoram mountains. It is particularly wonderful in March as it is the beginning of spring here and the blossoms start to appear on the apricot and cherry trees. The weather is also mild and very welcoming.

I truly hope that you will be able to take out time from your very busy schedule and commitments to join us for this meeting.

Prof. Mamoon Rashid,
Chairman – Organizing Committee, PAPSCON 2020

Islamabad “The Beautiful”; The Capital of Pakistan is one of the most beautiful and green cities you will find in the country. Surrounded on one side by the lush green Margalla Hills, it gives a perfect blend of sightseeing and an urban lifestyle. Being the capital, it is the most developed city in the country, and the most organized one. Areas are easy to access as the roads are well developed and mostly straight and at right angles to each other. Overall, you will enjoy Islamabad’s cleanliness and greenery, and the serene environment.

For any visitors, Islamabad will probably be their first stop in Pakistan. Due to its location, the beautiful valleys of Kashmir, Gilgit, Naran, Kaghan etc, and the gigantic mountains to the north are easily accessible from Islamabad than other places. Be sure to include visiting the north in your trip plans, because that’s where it gets the most beautiful. There are many negative perceptions about the country, and the country has its fair share of problems, but visiting the country yourself will clear most negative and media propogated opinions. The people are hospitable, the land beautiful, and the culture is unique.
